Now learn this lesson from the fig tree:
As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out,
you know that summer is near. -- Matthew 24:32
The birds are going crazy in our back yard. The winter isn't over--seems every couple of days we see a little snow--but there are more and more days when we can shed a layer or two. The leaves may not be out, but the twigs are just starting to hint at buds.
For many different reasons, the last couple of months have been hard for many of us. Our congregation saw two funerals, and more than the normal share of surgeries and sicknesses. But grief passes into peace, people get better, and new friends are made. Days get warmer, and spring is near. Praise God that cold and darkness do not last forever. If you join us for worship this month, you might also see some of our signs of life. On March 9 we are having our monthly breakfast at 9 a.m., before the 10 a.m. worship service. On March 16 we are having a soup and sandwich lunch immediately after service, along with an "escape room" activity with Bible-themed puzzles. And March 30 we are having a special Youth Sunday with extra involvement from our kids. Come ready to see what God is doing!
